The fees charged by justices are established by the State.
In instances where significant travel is involved, that will be considered in the cost. In addition, parking garage fees are expected to be paid by the wedding couple.
I am happy to meet with couples in my home for a planning session, for no additional fee. However, should you wish to meet in another location, or for several sessions, then there would be a fee of $50 for that session and for each additional meeting.
In most instances, due to the simplicity and informality of format, a wedding rehearsal in not necessary. However, for larger, more formal weddings, a rehearsal may be necessary. In some instances, the function coordinator of the banquet hall performs this service. Should my service be required, the fee for the rehearsal is the same for the actual ceremony.
Payment is expected prior to the wedding ceremony. Since the license must be presented to me before the ceremony begins, placing payment in the same envelope is just fine.
On the day of the wedding, I will present to the couple a Certificate of Marriage.
A further note: I appreciate the fact that many couples extend an invitation for me to attend their reception dinner. While the kindness is appreciated, I must decline in advance. It is an unnecessary added expense to the couple to accommodate another guest; especially one who may not know another soul there. Also, there are times when I have another wedding on my schedule. I will stay to greet guests for a short period and graciously leave before the meal. Thank you for your understanding.
